On this caturday, we’ll be calling attention to fat cats. Funny? yes. Tragic? Maybe. But we can take this time to observe them doing amusing activities. Yes, this is why the Internet exists. Let us use it to its full potential.

The History of Caturday

The ancient Romans understood the true majesty of the domestic kitteh and dedicated a full day of the week to offering tribute to this noble and divine animal. The roman priests of the Temple of Felis Cattus would dedicate themselves to paint sheets of papyrus with sequential, slightly changed, images of kittehs. They would bind them into large “books”. When the pages were flipped quickly on public display in The Roman Forum, the animated kitteh images could be seen doing dumbass things for the amusement of the Roman mob. It was totally teh funnay, even in ancient times.

When the Romans first encountered kitteh worship in Egypt, they said to the ancient and high order of the priests of Bastet, “OMGWTFBBQ!!! You copied us!!” This lead to war.. Cleopatra, Octavian, Marc Antony, yadda yadda yadda, Rome wins, so it’s called Caturday now, not Bastetday or some other dumb name.

Two thousand years later, we still honor this day. Caturday.

And, so, for this glorious caturday, we have chosen to present to you… Kittehs attacking stuff. Amen. Let us play.

Next time you video your cat, please remove the tuna fish necklace you love so much.
There’s a time and a place.

Someday digital noms will be more popular than regular cat food.

So we got a lot of fun feedback on the Eye of The Tiger spoof from this week, and so we have chosen it as this Caturday’s topic.

Week 3 in crazy land

Fundercats.com was born 3 caturdays ago and we’re glad to see so many of you show up to enjoy the ride with us. Funny cat stuff is insanely fun to do. You know what’s even more fun? Having people like you enjoy us doing insanely fun stuff. Seriously.. how awesome is that for everyone??

Today marks the first Caturday since the launch of FunderCats.com. Woohoo!

First, Email Bird would like to thank everyone who has signed up for his updates. He is alive because of you. He will never forget and is eternally grateful.  Email Bird would like to add “All Hail the FunderCats! (was that convincing enough? wait, don’t type this.  STOP IT. Seriously if they read.. *gulp* OK stop it for real you UNPRINTABLE)”
